How to find a football team in Spain
If you are an adult player looking for a team in Spain, the search is easier once you know how the leagues are organised and where clubs look for players.
Know the levels
Spanish football has a national fifth tier, the Tercera Federación. Below it, the regional leagues are run by each autonomous federation, so their names and divisions change from region to region. Check your regional federation's website to see which leagues are played near you.
Where to look
Contact clubs directly, by email, by phone or in person at training. Ask your regional federation which clubs play near you. Many clubs post trials and open places on social media, so follow the clubs you are interested in. Ask to train with the squad before you commit. Ask about both 11-a-side and futsal teams.
Join the right way
To play for a club you need a federative licence, which the club requests together with you. Ask the club what documents it needs. If you are already registered with another club, ask that club to release you before you join a new one: the process depends on your federation and the season.
